Abdul restructured Wayne County's Department of Health, Human & Veterans Services and rebuilt Detroit's Health Department after bankruptcy. He's helped hundreds of thousands of Michiganders by canceling hundreds of millions in medical debt and got the lead out of Detroit's public schools.

Abdul's agenda: money out of politics, more money in your pocket, Medicare for All. He has a plan to cut taxes for working families while making billionaires pay their fair share and a plan to get every Michigander access to affordable, high-quality healthcare.

Abdul is endorsed by dozens of community leaders and pastors, backed by unions representing teachers, nurses, and auto workers, the AFL-CIO, and supported by the Congressional Black Caucus.

Abdul was born and raised in Michigan. He was captain of his high school football team and graduated from the University of Michigan. He’s a card-carrying union member raising his two daughters here with his wife, Sarah.

We can trust Abdul to stand up to Donald Trump's reckless agenda, which is driving up the cost of gas, groceries, housing, and health care. Abdul has made protecting our voting rights central to his campaign. He will defend our community against attempts to redraw our voting districts to strip away our power, and he will stand up to Trump's efforts to make it harder for us to vote.
